Abstract
The object of the present invention is to provide silica particles which are surface-treated with a silicon compound uniformly and have improved surface characteristics and affinity with a resin. The silica particles according the present invention are surface-treated with a specific silicon compound, wherein C/Si ratio from X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is not less than 0.05.

Silica particles surface-treated with a silicon compound represented by the following general formula (1), wherein C/Si ratio from X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is not less than 0.05,
- R2SiX2 (1)
- wherein R, optionally having a substituent, represents at least one selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group and an unsaturated aliphatic residue, and may be either identical or different;
- and X represents at least one selected from the group consisting of hydroxy group, an alkoxy group and acyloxy group.
