Abstract
Provided herein are compositions, methods, and systems for a material containing metastable carbonate, such as reactive vaterite and water repellant.
Claims22
A composition, comprising activated vaterite and water repellant.
A formed building material, comprising aragonite and water repellant.
A method for making a composition, comprising:
- (a) contacting CO2 with water comprising alkaline earth-metal ions and proton removing agent under one or more conditions to make a composition comprising activated vaterite;
- and
- (b) mixing the composition with a water repellant.
