Auxiliary air distribution system for use in a vehicle

An air distribution system operatively associated with a headliner of a vehicle, the air distribution system comprising:

• a housing having a lower panel, a front wall portion, and first and second side walls, each of said first and second side walls having at least one direct air outlet provided therethrough, wherein said at least one direct air outlet of said first and second side walls is configured to directly provide air to desired locations within the vehicle, each of said first and second side walls having at least one indirect air outlet provided therethrough, wherein said at least one indirect air outlet of said first and second side walls is configured to indirectly provide air to the desired locations within the vehicle;
• a plurality of ribs associated with said housing and configured to define a plurality of airflow channels to said at least one direct air outlet and said at least one indirect air outlet of said first and second side walls;
• an air blocking device operatively associated with said housing and said plurality of airflow channels;
• and
• wherein when air is provided to the desired locations within the vehicle through said at least one direct air outlets of said first and second sidewalls, said air blocking device is selectively configured to either prevent air from flowing through said at least one indirect air outlet of said first and second side walls, or to allow air to flow through said at least one indirect air outlet of said first and second side walls.
