- optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, adjuvant, auxiliary substance or a combination thereof.
2:
- The method according to claim 1, wherein the lixisenatide or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is administered parenterally.
3:
- The method according to claim 1, wherein the lixisenatide or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is administered in a daily dose selected from the range of 10 μg to 20 μg.
4:
- The method according to claim 1, wherein the Parkinson's disease is associated with oxidative stress, inflammatory response, apoptosis and/or neuronal loss.
5:
- The method of claim 4, wherein the neuronal loss is a loss of dopaminergic neurons.
6:
- The method of claim 4, wherein the neuronal loss is a neuronal loss in the substantia nigra resulting in a lack of dopamine.
7:
- The method according to claim 1, wherein the Parkinson's disease is associated with cognitive impairment.
8:
- The method according to claim 1, wherein the Parkinson's disease is an early-stage Parkinson's disease.
9:
- The method according to claim 1, wherein the composition elicits a disease-modifying response.
10:
- The method according to claim 1, wherein the progression of the Parkinson's disease is slowed down.
