Abstract
A method is provided for improving synchronization and information transmission in a communication system, including: generating a signal with a centrally symmetric part s(k) exploitable for synchronization; and sending the signal over a communication channel. The signal is based on a uniquely identifiable sequence c(l) from a set of sequences exploitable for information transmission. The centrally symmetric part s(k) is centrally symmetric in the shape of absolute value thereof. The centrally symmetric part s(k) is of arbitrary length N.
Claims4
A receiver, comprising circuitry configured to:
- a non-transitory memory storage comprising instructions;
- and
- one or more processors in communication with the memory, wherein the one or more processors execute the instructions to:
- receive and process a signal with a centrally symmetric part s(k) exploitable for synchronization between a transmitter and the receiver, wherein the signal is based on a uniquely identifiable sequence c(l) from a set of sequences exploitable for transmitting information, the centrally symmetric part s(k) is centrally symmetric in a shape of absolute value thereof, and the centrally symmetric part s(k) is of length N, and
- wherein the centrally symmetric part s(k) comprises two parts, a first part of the two parts does not have a symmetrical counterpart, and a second part of the two parts has N−1 centrally symmetric samples;
- use a differential correlation under relatively high frequency error on the received signal, and
- use a reverse differential correlation under relatively low frequency error on the received signal.
A method of synchronization in a communication system, comprising:
- receiving and processing, by a receiver, a signal with a centrally symmetric part s(k) exploitable for synchronization between a transmitter and the receiver, wherein the signal is based on a uniquely identifiable sequence c(l) from a set of sequences exploitable for transmitting information, the centrally symmetric part s(k) is centrally symmetric in a shape of absolute value thereof, and the centrally symmetric part s(k) is of length N, and wherein the centrally symmetric part s(k) comprises two parts, a first part of the two parts does not have a symmetrical counterpart, and a second part of the two parts has N−1 centrally symmetric samples;
- using a differential correlation under relatively high frequency error on the received signal, and
- using a reverse differential correlation D(p) under relatively low frequency error on the received signal.
