Identifying modulation and coding schemes and channel quality indicators

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• a processor;
• a memory in electronic communication with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:
• identify one of at least two supported channel quality indicator (CQI) tables;
• the at least two CQI tables;
• and
• generate, based at least in part on the identifying the CQI table, a CQI value for a wireless channel.

A method for wireless communications, comprising:

• receiving channel quality indicator (CQI) data for a wireless channel;
• identifying one of at least two supported CQI tables to use to identify a CQI value;
• and
• identifying the CQI value based at least in part on the received CQI data and the identified CQI table.

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• a processor;
• a memory in electronic communication with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:
• receive channel quality indicator (CQI) data for a wireless channel;
• identify one of at least two supported CQI tables to use to identify a CQI value;
• and
• identify the CQI value based at least in part on the receiving the CQI data and the identifying the CQI table.

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• means for receiving channel quality indicator (CQI) data for a wireless channel;
• means for identifying one of at least two supported CQI tables to use to identify a CQI value;
• and
• means for identifying the CQI value based at least in part on the receiving the CQI data and the identifying the CQI table.

A computer program product for managing wireless communications, the computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processor to:

• receive channel quality indicator (CQI) data for a wireless channel;
• identify one of at least two supported CQI tables to use to identify a CQI value;
• and
• identify the CQI value based at least in part on the receiving the CQI data and the identifying the CQI table.
