System and method of processing antenna configuration information

A base station serving a user equipment device (UE) in a first cell, comprising:

• a processor, configured to encode comprehensive antenna configuration information, wherein the comprehensive antenna configuration information represents antenna configurations of all neighboring cells of a first cell;
• and
• a transmitter, configured to send encoded comprehensive antenna configuration information to the UE according to a pilot design principle, wherein the UE is capable of communicating with the base station in the first cell.

A base station serving a user equipment device (UE) in a first cell, comprising a memory unit storing program codes for execution by a processor, wherein the program codes comprise instructions for:

• encoding comprehensive antenna configuration information, wherein the comprehensive antenna configuration information represents antenna configurations of all neighboring cells of a first cell;
• and
• sending encoded comprehensive antenna configuration information to the UE according to a pilot design principle, wherein the UE is capable of communicating with the base station in the first cell.
