Universal Box System

A toggle device comprising:

• a. a housing;
• b. a switch mechanism including:
• i. a body including a first arm and a second arm, the body coupled to the housing at a pivot point and configured to rotate about the pivot point to a first position and a second position;
• and
• ii. a resilient member for rotationally biasing the body about the pivot point, the resilient member having a first end and a second end, the first and second ends configured to be coupled to the body and the housing, respectively;
• c. a switch configured to be in communication with the switch mechanism;
• and
• d. a lever configured to rotate about the pivot point to the first position and the second position and be rotationally coupled to the body of the switch mechanism;
• wherein when the first and second ends of the resilient member are coupled to the respective body and switch housing, the resilient member exerts a first force on the body when the body is at the first position, a second force when the body is at the second position, and a third force when the body is in a threshold position between the first and second positions, the third force being greater than both the first and second forces;
• and
• wherein when the lever is rotated about the pivot point from one of the first and second positions to the other of the first and second positions, the lever rotates the body and the respective one of the first and second forces increases in magnitude and acts on the body to first resist the rotation until the body is in the threshold position, and then the respective one of the first and second forces assists the rotation so the body continues to rotate past the threshold position into the other of the first and second position and act on the switch.
