Abstract
A system for dynamically utilizing data storage comprises a processor and a memory. The processor is configured to determine whether a data storage criterion is satisfied; and, in the event that the data storage criterion is satisfied: determine a new archiving threshold based on a target data storage usage level; and set the archiving threshold. The memory is coupled to the processor and is configured to provide the processor with instructions.
Claims20
A system for dynamically utilizing data storage, comprising:
- a processor configured to:
- determine whether uncompressed storage is above uncompressed storage threshold;
- in the event that the uncompressed storage is above the uncompressed storage threshold:
- determine an amount of data to remove for the uncompressed storage to meet an uncompressed storage target;
- determine a first archiving threshold to remove a necessary amount of data under a current activity plan;
- set the first archiving threshold;
- and
- remove objects from uncompressed storage;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor and configured to provide the processor with instructions.
A method for dynamically utilizing data storage, comprising:
- determining, using a processor, whether uncompressed storage is above uncompressed storage threshold;
- in the event that the uncompressed storage is above the uncompressed storage threshold:
- determining an amount of data to remove for the uncompressed storage to meet an uncompressed storage target;
- determining a first archiving threshold to remove a necessary amount of data under a current activity plan;
- setting the first archiving threshold;
- and
- removing objects from uncompressed storage.
A computer program product for dynamically utilizing data storage, the computer program product being embodied in a tangible computer readable storage medium and comprising computer instructions for:
- determining, using a processor, whether uncompressed storage is above uncompressed is storage threshold;
- in the event that the uncompressed storage is above the uncompressed storage threshold:
- determining an amount of data to remove for the uncompressed storage to meet an uncompressed storage target;
- determining a first archiving threshold to remove a necessary amount of data under a current activity plan;
- setting the first archiving threshold;
- and
- removing objects from uncompressed storage.
