Abstract
The disclosure provides for peptides from syndecan 1 and methods of use therefor. These peptides can inhibit VLA-4 interaction with VEGFR2, thereby preventing tumor cell growth and tissue invasion.
Claims26
1-20. (canceled)
A method of inhibiting VLA-4 interaction with VEGFR2 comprising contacting VLA-4 and/or a VEGFR2 with a peptide segment consisting of between 12 and 100 amino acid residues and comprising 210-221, 210-233, 210-236, 214-236 or 214-240 of SEQ ID NO:
- 1.
36-44. (canceled)
A method of treating a subject with a cancer, cancer cells of which express VLA-4 and/or VEGFR2, comprising contacting said cells with a peptide segment consisting of between 12 and 100 amino acid residues and comprising residues 210-221, 220-236, 210-236, 214-236, 214-240, or 210-233 of SEQ ID NO:1.
47-70. (canceled)
The method of claim 1, wherein the VLA-4 and/or VEGFR2 is within a region of a subject undergoing pathologic neovascularization, and whereby the pathologic neovascularization is inhibited.
72-80. (canceled)
The method of claim 1, wherein the VLA-4 and/or VEGFR2 is within an injured tissue site of a subject, and whereby wound healing within the injured tissue site is promoted.
-96. (canceled)
A method of inhibiting VLA-4 interaction with syndecan-1 comprising contacting VLA-4 and/or syndecan-1 with a peptide segment consisting of between 12 and 100 amino acid residues and comprising 210-221, 210-233, 210-236, 210-240 of SEQ ID NO:1.
