Abstract
This document provides methods and materials related to treating cancer (e.g. skin cancer). For example, methods and materials relating to the use of a composition containing albumin-containing nanoparticle/antibody complexes (e.g. ABRAXANE®/anti-VEGF polypeptide antibody complexes) to treat cancer (e.g. skin cancer) are provided.

A polypeptide-albumin nanoparticle complex comprising albumin and a polypeptide, said polypeptide having binding specificity for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), wherein said polypeptide is complexed with surface portions of albumin forming a stable nanoparticle complex, wherein said polypeptide retains VEGF binding specificity, and wherein the average diameter of said complex is between 0.1 um and 0.9 um, and wherein the complex further comprises a chemotherapeutic.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and an effective amount of polypeptide-albumin nanoparticle complexes, said complexes comprising albumin and a polypeptide having binding specificity for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), wherein said polypeptide is complexed with surface portions of albumin forming a stable nanoparticle complexes, wherein said polypeptide retains VEGF binding specificity, and wherein the average diameter of said complexes is between 0.1 um and 0.9 um, and wherein the complex further comprises a chemotherapeutic.
