Abstract
A process is described for the preparation of freeze-dried pharmaceutical compositions of mitomycin C, which are characterized by high stability and can be rapidly reconstituted to form solutions.

Process for the preparation of a freeze-dried pharmaceutical composition comprising mitomycin C, in which a solution of mitomycin C is freeze-dried, wherein the solution comprises at least one organic solvent.

Mitomycin C-containing solution for freeze-drying, which comprises at least one organic solvent selected from the group of tert.-butanol, n-propanol, n-butanol, isopropanol, ethanol, methanol, 1-pentanol, chlorobutanol, acetic acid, acetone, dimethyl carbonate, acetonitrile, dichloromethane, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl acetate, carbon tetrachloride, dimethyl sulphoxide, N,N-dimethyl-acetamide, hexafluoroacetone, dimethyl sulphone and cyclohexane.
