Abstract
A dental model and related systems and methods, including a first component representing a portion of a patient's jaw and a second component that is demountably attachable to the first component, and a second component representing a dental structure of interest, such as the remaining portion of a tooth or a dental implant.

A dental model comprising:
- a first component configured to represent a portion of a patient's jaw and defining at least one socket;
- and
- at least one second component that is demountably attachable to the first component and configured to represent at least one dental structure in the portion of the patient's jaw, the at least one second component comprising:
- a shaft shaped to be inserted into the at least one socket of the first component;
- and
- one or more locally protruding portions located on the shaft.

A method of using a dental model, the method comprising:
- providing a first component configured to represent a portion of a patient's jaw and defining at least one socket;
- providing at least one second component configured to represent at least one dental structure in the portion of the patient's jaw, the at least one second component comprising a shaft and one or more locally protruding portions located on the shaft;
- and
- mounting the at least one second component to the first component by inserting the shaft of the at least one second component into the at least one socket of the first component.

A method of fabricating a dental model, the method comprising:
- fabricating a first component configured to represent a portion of a patient's jaw and defining at least one socket;
- fabricating at least one second component that is demountably attachable to the first component and configured to represent at least one dental structure in the portion of the patient's jaw, the at least one second component comprising a shaft shaped to be inserted into the at least one socket of the first component;
- and
- fabricating one or more locally protruding portions located on one or more of the shaft or the at least one socket.
