Abstract
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for polystyrene-b-polyethylene oxide (PS-b-PEO) block copolymer nanoporous membranes, methods of making a PS-b-PEO block copolymer nanoporous membrane, methods of using PS-b-PEO block copolymer nanoporous membranes, and the like.

A structure, comprising:
- a porous membrane made of polystyrene-b-polyethylene oxide (PS-b-PEO) copolymers having a polydispersity of about 1 to 1.2, wherein the porous membrane has periodically ordered pores formed by ordered cylindrical structures and having a long axis perpendicular to a surface of the porous membrane.
A method of making a porous membrane, comprising:
- dissolving a PS-b-PEO copolymer in a water miscible liquid to produce a casting solution;
- casting the casting solution on a substrate to form a film;
- allowing the film to evaporate for a first period of time;
- and
- immersing the film into a water bath for a second period of time to form the porous membrane.
