Reality-augmented morphological procedure

A system that facilitates a procedure with respect to a morphologic subject, the system comprising:

• a data reception interface to receive data representative of a physical feature of the morphologic subject;
• and
• a rendering engine to render, for a practitioner of the procedure, a view of the morphologic subject overlaid by a virtual image of the physical feature, the rendering engine including one or more programmed processors to (i) generate the virtual image of the physical feature based on the representative data, and (ii) render the virtual image of the physical feature within the view in accordance with one or more reference points on the morphologic subject such that the virtual image enables in-situ visualization of the actual physical feature with respect to the morphologic subject.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having program code stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to:

• acquire data representative of a physical feature of a morphologic subject;
• and
• render a view of the morphologic subject overlaid by a virtual image of the physical feature, including (i) generating the virtual image of the physical feature based on the representative data, and (ii) rendering the virtual image of the physical feature within the view in accordance with one or more reference points on the morphologic subject such that the virtual image enables in-situ visualization of the actual physical feature with respect to the morphologic subject.
