Abstract
A protective helmet includes a helmet shell, a support cage, and a securing device for securing the support cage to the helmet shell. An impact absorption device is arranged between the support cage and the helmet shell.

A protective helmet comprising:
- a helmet shell;
- a support cage:
- a first securing device for securing the support cage on the helmet shell;
- a second securing device for securing a component other than the support cage to the helmet shell;
- and
- an impact absorption device disposed between the support cage and the helmet shell;
- wherein the second securing device aids in positioning the impact absorption device.
