Abstract
The present invention discloses a system and method for cleaning the light scattering film (LSF) from the surface of a windshield in a vehicle, and more particularly, is directed to a magnetically associated cleaning element that is moved across the interior surface of a windshield by an interactive magnetic force transmitted through the windshield, with magnets associated with the wiper assembly on the other side of the glass.

A system for cleaning light scattering film from the interior of a windshield, comprising:
- a magnetic component adapted to attach to a wiper assembly of a vehicle,
- a magnetic linear construct comprising a semi-rigid plate, said plate adapted to receive a plurality of rare earth magnets in a linear array, said construct positionable in a first position for magnetic attraction with said magnetic component,
- a cleaning element comprised of cloth, paper or non-woven material, said cleaning element reversibly connected to said linear construct and having a surface for contacting the interior of a windshield at a portion opposite the wiper assembly positioned on the exterior of the windshield, whereby when the wiper blade is operated, the magnetic forces between said magnetic component and said magnetic linear construct compel the magnetic linear construct to travel across an interior surface of the windshield to remove light scattering film present on said interior surface.
A system for cleaning light scattering film from the interior of a windshield, comprising:
- a first housing made from a flexible material,
- a first plurality of rare earth magnetic members connected to said first housing,
- a material for cleaning a windshield's interior surface, said material associated with said first housing,
- a second plurality of rare earth magnetic members adapted to be connected to a wiper assembly of a vehicle located on an exterior of said windshield,
- said first plurality of rare earth magnets positioned on the interior side of said windshield and opposite said second plurality of magnetic members, such that when said housing is moved, said second housing moves simultaneously therewith.
A system for cleaning light scattering film from the interior of a windshield, comprising:
- a magnetic component adapted to attach to a wiper assembly of a vehicle,
- a magnetic linear construct comprising a resiliently flexible plate, said plate adapted to receive a plurality of Neodymium magnets in a linear array, said construct positionable in a first position for magnetic attraction with said magnetic component,
- a cleaning element comprised of cloth, paper or non-woven material, said cleaning element reversibly connected to said linear construct and having a surface for contacting the interior of a windshield at a portion opposite the wiper assembly positioned on the exterior of the windshield, whereby when the wiper assembly is operated, magnetic forces between said magnetic component and said magnetic linear construct compel the magnetic linear construct to travel across an interior surface of the windshield to remove light scattering film present on said interior surface, wherein the linear construct, weighs less than ½ pound and wherein the cleaning element has a triangular shape with three separate window contacting surfaces.
