Cartridge, image forming apparatus and manufacturing method of the cartridge

A manufacturing method of a cartridge used for forming an image on a recording material including,

• a memory for storing information;
• a supporting portion provided on a first cartridge constituent member and provided with a slit for permitting insertion of said memory;
• and
• a preventing portion, provided on a second cartridge constituent member, for preventing movement of said memory inserted in said supporting portion,
• wherein with respect to a direction crossing a longitudinal direction of said cartridge and crossing a thickness direction of said memory, a width of said preventing portion is smaller than a width of said memory inserted in the slit, said manufacturing method comprising:
• inserting the memory into the slit;
• and
• assembling the first and second cartridge constituent member with each other.
