Abstract
An illumination device according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a light guide plate configured to emit light from inside through one surface of the light guide plate and a light source disposed to face a peripheral surface of the light guide plate. In the display apparatus, during non-light emitting of the light source, for distance s between the light source and the peripheral surface, a distance between a middle part of the light source in a peripheral edge direction of the light guide plate and a portion in the peripheral surface corresponding to the middle part is the longest.

A illumination device comprising:
- a light guide plate configured to emit light from inside through one surface of the light guide plate;
- and
- a light source disposed to face a peripheral surface of the light guide plate, wherein,
- during non-light emitting of the light source, for distance s between the light source and the peripheral surface, a distance between a middle part of the light source in a peripheral edge direction of the light guide plate and a portion in the peripheral surface corresponding to the middle part is the longest,
- during light-emitting of the light source, the peripheral surface of the light guide plate being thermally expanded by heat generated from the light source is closer to the light source, and a distance between the light source and the peripheral surface becomes uniform.
