Abstract
Aspects of lighting assemblies principally for pools and spas are addressed. The assemblies may be configured to operate without penetrating housings thereof, thus not adversely impacting waterproof characteristics of the housings. This result is especially beneficial when the housings are installed underwater within pools or spas.

A lighting assembly comprising:
- a. a lighting housing configured for use at least partially within water of a pool;
- b. at least one switch or sensor contained within the lighting housing;
- and
- c. means, external to the lighting housing, for changing a conductive state of the at least one switch or sensor.

A method of changing a lighting display associated with a pool, comprising:
- a. providing a lighting housing containing at least one switch or sensor therein;
- and
- b. moving means, external to the lighting housing, so as to change a conductive state of the at least one switch or sensor and thereby change the lighting display.
