Aspects of the disclosure are directed to applying a plating solution to a base material of a notch associated with a shroud section of a turbine blade, and applying an electrical signal to the plating solution to cause a deposition of material onto the base material to form a composite.

A method comprising:
- applying a plating solution to a base material of a notch associated with a shroud section of a turbine blade;
- and
- applying an electrical signal to the plating solution to cause a deposition of material onto the base material to form a composite.
A shroud section associated with a turbine blade, comprising:
- a composite material deposited onto a base material of a notch of the shroud section based on an application of an electrical signal to a plating solution.
