Abstract
A device and method to inhibit growth of cancer cells is disclosed. The device may include a power source and an electric field generator. The power source may output an electric potential to cause an electric field to be emitted from the electric field emitter and be applied to target tissue, which may include cancer cells.
Claims20
A method of treating a cancer cell, comprising the steps of:
- placing a device into the subject and in proximity to the cancer cell, said device comprising a power source, an electric field generator operably coupled to the power source, and a housing that contains the power source and at least a portion of the electric field generator;
- wherein the power source generates an electric potential of up to 10.0 Volts;
- and
- wherein the electric field generator generates an electric field that extends outside of the housing and includes at least a portion of the cancer cell.

A method of treating a cancer cell, comprising the steps of:
- placing a device into the subject and in proximity to the cancer cell, said device comprising a power source, an electric field generator in electrical connection to the power source, and a housing that contains the power source and at least a portion of the electric field generator;
- wherein the power source genrates an electric potential of 2.0 Volts to 3.5 Volts;
- and
- wherein the electric field generator comprises a plurality of plates arranged to generate an electric field that extends outside of the housing and includes at least a portion of the cancer cell.

A method of treating a cancer cell, comprising the steps of:
- placing a device into the subject and in proximity to the tissue to be treated, said device comprising a power source, an electric field generator in electrical connection to the power source, and a housing that contains the power source and at least a portion of the electric field generator:
- wherein the power source comprises a primary battery and a secondary battery, the primary battery to generate an electric potential of 2.0 Volts to 5.0 Volts;
- and
- wherein the electric field generator generates an electric field that extends outside of the housing and includes at least a portion of the cancer cell.
