Abstract

The invention comprises a rod-like jewelry organizer, holder and/or display device closed at each end which can be opened and closed. The invention will provide for convenient storage and retrieval of a large number of continuous items of jewelry such as bracelets, bangles, watches, necklaces, rings and the like. The rod-like storage device is comprised of two paired rods with an opening there between. The paired rods are provided with an opening and closing means so that items can easily be slipped onto the rod once it has been opened and maintained on the storage rod when the rod is closed. In one embodiment of the device a paired storage rod in two portions is mounted on an elongated strip. In another embodiment of the invention multiple, paired storage rods are provided on a frame which can be mounted on the back of a closet door.

Dependent claims

A storage device and organizer for storing continuous personal items, comprising:

a left-hand storage rod having a right-hand end and an opposite end,
said opposite end being attached to a first support member,
said right-hand end being free;
a right-hand storage rod having a left-hand end and an opposite end,
said opposite end being attached to a second support member,
a movable locking device attached to the left-hand end of said right-hand storage rod and adapted to cooperate with said right-hand end of said left-hand storage rod to open and close said storage device.

A storage device and organizer for storing continuous personal items, comprising:

first and second vertical strips joined to first and second horizontal strips to provide a generally rectangular rigid framework for said storage device;
at least one left-hand storage rod having a right-hand end and a left-hand end with said left-hand end being mounted to said first vertical strip such that said right-hand end extends towards said second vertical strip;
at least one right-hand storage rod having a right-hand end and a left-hand end with said right-hand end being mounted to said second vertical strip such that said left-hand extends towards said first vertical strip and such that said right-hand storage rod is in alignment with said left-hand storage rod and such that said right-hand end of said left-hand storage rod is spaced from said left-hand end of said right-hand storage rod;
a generally cylindrical cover slidably secured to said left-hand end of said right-hand storage rod such that said cylindrical cover can slide from a closed position where the open end of said cylindrical cover encompasses the right-hand end of said left-hand support rod, thus closing said storage device, to an open position where the open end of said cylindrical cover is spaced from said right-hand end of said left-hand support rod, thus opening said storage device to receive continuous personal items.
