Filtering out access point data based on non-conformity with other access point data

A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions which, when executed by one or more hardware processors, cause performance of operations comprising:

• obtaining information comprising a set of signal strength values corresponding to wireless signals received from a client device by each of a plurality of network devices;
• based on correlation between different signal strength values, selecting a subset of the plurality of network devices;
• and
• estimating a location of the client device based on (a) a first subset of signal strength values that correspond to wireless signals received by one network device of the subset of the plurality of network devices and (b) location of each network device of the subset of the plurality of network devices.

A system comprising:

• a particular access point;
• wherein the system is configured to perform operations comprising:
• obtaining information comprising a set of signal strength values corresponding to wireless signals received from a client device by each of a plurality of network devices;
• based on correlation between different signal strength values, selecting a first subset of signal strength values from the set of signal strength values to estimate a distance between the client device and a subset of the plurality of network devices corresponding to one of the first subset of signal strength values;
• and
• estimating a location of the client device based on the first subset of signal strength values and location of each of the subset of the plurality of network devices.
