Payment code generation using a wireless beacon at a merchant location

A method comprising:

• accessing, by a payment code processing module comprising at least one hardware processor, check-in information received from a wireless beacon at a merchant location for a merchant generated when the wireless beacon connects with a communication device belonging to a user at the merchant location, wherein the check-in information identifies a payment account for the user;
• receiving, by a network interface component, a request to generate a payment code from the wireless beacon, wherein the request is initiated by the communication device in connection with the wireless beacon;
• generating, by the payment code processing module, the payment code for the user using the payment account;
• and
• communicating, by the network interface component, the payment code to the wireless beacon for transmission to the communication device by the wireless beacon.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising executable modules which, in response to execution by a computer system, cause the computer system to perform a method comprising:

• accessing, a payment code processing module comprising at least one hardware processor, check-in information received from a wireless beacon at a merchant location for a merchant generated when the wireless beacon connects with a communication device belonging to a user at the merchant location, wherein the check-in information identifies a payment account for the user;
• receiving, by a network interface component, a request to generate a payment code from the wireless beacon, wherein the request is initiated by the communication device in connection with the wireless beacon;
• generating, by the payment code processing module, the payment code for the user using the payment account;
• and
• communicating, by the network interface component, the payment code to the wireless beacon for transmission to the communication device by the wireless beacon.
