Abstract
A method for managing a voice call while simultaneously running a data application on a handset having a display includes determining whether the display on the handset is on or off; and if the display is off, then suspending data transfer supporting the data application. Other conditions for suspending data transfer include whether an application is in the foreground of the display; whether the handset is in proximity to a user's head, or if network reception quality exceeds a threshold.
Claims20
A device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- memory coupled to the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:
- concurrently performing a voice call on the device and executing a data application on the device;
- detecting, by the device, at least one condition, the at least one condition comprising a first condition, the first condition indicative of a display of the device in a power save mode;
- and
- responsive to detecting the at least one condition, maintaining performance of the voice call and suspending data transfer supporting the data application without suspending the data application.
A method comprising:
- concurrently performing a voice call on a device and executing a data application on the device;
- detecting, by the device, at least one condition, the at least one condition comprising a first condition, the first condition indicative of a display of the device in a power save mode;
- and
- responsive to detecting the at least one condition, maintaining performance of the voice call and suspending data transfer supporting the data application without suspending the data application.
A computer readable storage medium comprising computer executable instructions that when executed by a computing device cause said computing device to effectuate operations comprising:
- concurrently performing a voice call on a device and executing a data application on the device;
- detecting, by the device, at least one condition, the at least one condition comprising a first condition, the first condition indicative of a display of the device in a power save mode;
- and
- responsive to detecting the at least one condition, maintaining performance of the voice call and suspending data transfer supporting the data application without suspending the data application.
