A light-transmissive cover member for an electronic apparatus that is disposed such that at least part of the light-transmissive cover member faces an image display surface of an image display device, the light-transmissive cover member comprising a single crystal sapphire body containing alumina as a main component, and having a transmittance of light having a wavelength of 260 nm which is less than 92% of a transmittance of light having a wavelength of 550 nm.

An electronic device, comprising:

• an image display device comprising an image display surface;
• and
• a light-transmissive sapphire cover member, at least partially covering the image display surface, and having first and second transmittances of light having a wavelength of 260 nm and 550 nm respectively, wherein the first transmittance is less than 85% of the second transmittance.
