Abstract
A metering circuit includes a comparator including a first input to receive an input signal, and including a second input and an output. The metering circuit further includes a reference source to provide a time-varying reference signal to the second input during a peak counting operation.
Claims20
A metering circuit comprising:
- a comparator including a first input to receive an input signal, and including a second input and an output;
- and
- a reference source to provide a time-varying reference signal to the second input during a peak counting operation.
A metering circuit comprising:
- a first comparator including a first input to receive a resonant signal, a second input to receive a time-varying reference signal, and an output;
- a counter to count pulses at the output of the first comparator;
- and
- a second comparator to determine a state of a system based on a count at an output of the counter.

A method of providing a time-varying signal comprises:
- receiving a resonant signal at a first input of a comparator;
- receiving a time-varying reference signal at a second input of a comparator;
- counting a number of peaks of the resonant signal that exceed the time-varying reference signal;
- and
- determining a state of a system based on the count.
