Methods to improve online diagnostics of valve assemblies on a process line and implementation thereof

A method for allocating bandwidth to collect data from devices on a process line, comprising:

• at a device having a processor with access to executable instructions stored on a memory:
• receiving an input comprising data that defines a device listing for a queue, the device listing applying a first sequential arrangement that assigns a first device to a first position in the device listing and a second device to a second position in the device listing;
• accessing a table of datasets for the first device and the second device;
• calculating a value for a priority characteristic from the datasets for the first device and the second device, the value having a first value for the first device and a second value for the second device;
• comparing the first value to the second value to identify a second sequential arrangement for the first device and the second valve in the queue listing, the second sequential arrangement assigning the first position and the second position to the first device and the second device according to a position of the first value relative to the second value;
• and
• generating an output reflecting the device listing having the second sequential arrangement.
