A filter assembly comprising:

• a filter housing comprising:
• a first housing part comprising a first housing opening and a second housing opening;
• a second housing part connected to the first housing part;
• a first connecting socket arranged at the first housing opening of the first housing part;
• a second connecting socket arranged at the second housing opening of the first housing part;
• a receiving space provided in an interior of the filter housing between the first and second housing openings, wherein the receiving space is configured to receive the filter element.
• a main filter element mounted in the receiving space of the filter housing and separating a raw fluid area from a clean fluid area in the filter housing.
