Abstract
A method of treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore, the method including the introduction a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous fluid composition comprising an aldehyde releasing compound.
Claims15
A method of treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore, the method comprising:
- introducing a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous fluid composition comprising an aldehyde releasing compound,
- wherein the aldehyde releasing compound:
- reduces a plurality of bacteria in the treatment fluid to be less than 1×103 colony-forming units (CFU) at a temperature range of from about −10° C. to about 60° C. and
- reduces the viscosity of a viscosified treatment fluid by at least one order of magnitude while the viscosified treatment fluid is at a temperature in the range of from about 79.4° C. (175° F.) to about 232.2° C. (450° F.).
