Method and apparatus for transmitting an offer for an item

A computer-readable storage device storing instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations for transmitting an offer for an item, the operations comprising:

• receiving, from a social network, an indication of a desire of a user for the item;
• receiving, from a device of a retailer, an indication of the offer for the item;
• determining a location of a device of the user;
• detecting a proximity of the device of the user to a location of the retailer;
• and
• transmitting the offer for the item to the device of the user when the proximity of the device of the user to the location of the retailer is detected.

An apparatus for transmitting an offer for an item, the apparatus comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a computer-readable storage device storing a instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
• receiving, from a social network, an indication of a desire of a user for the item;
• receiving, from a device of a retailer, an indication of the offer for the item;
• determining a location of a device of the user;
• detecting a proximity of the device of the user to a location of the retailer;
• and
• transmitting the offer for the item to the device of the user when the proximity of the device of the user to the location of the retailer is detected.
