Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display comprising:

• an insulation substrate;
• a plurality of pixels formed on the insulation substrate, wherein each pixel has a shape elongated in a horizontal direction and comprises a thin film transistor formation region and a display area;
• and
• a reference voltage line extending in a vertical direction along a center of the display area,
• wherein
• the display area comprises a plurality of domains arranged in two rows,
• the domains in a first row of the two rows define a high-gray subpixel area of the display area, the domains in a second row of the two rows define a low-gray subpixel area of the display area, and
• the reference voltage line comprises a branch extending toward the thin film transistor formation region along an outer region of the display area.
