Organic light emitting device and display unit

An organic light emitting device on a substrate comprising:

• a lamination structure that includes, in this order,
• (a) a lower electrode,
• (b) a light emitting layer made of an organic material,
• (c) an upper electrode including a metal thin film, and
• (d) a protective layer,
• wherein,
• a resonator structure between the lower electrode and the upper electrode is configured to resonate the light generated in the light emitting layer such that the light is emitted through the upper electrode,
• the lower electrode comprises silver,
• the thickness of the lower electrode is from 30 nm to 2000 nm,
• the upper electrode comprises a magnesium-silver alloy,
• the thickness of the upper electrode is from 5 nm to 20 nm,
• the protective layer comprises silicon oxide or silicon nitride, and
• the thickness of the protective layer is from 500 nm to 10000 nm.
