Method and system for secure co-browsing of patient records on communication devices

A system for co-browsing during a communication session on a plurality of communication devices, the system comprising:

• a session module for initiating, at the first communication device, the communication session between a first communication device and one or more second communication devices;
• an access module for accessing, at the first communication device, one or more patient data records via a server;
• a reference module for sending, by the first communication device, a reference of the one or more patient data records to the one or more second communication devices;
• a request module for requesting access to the one or more patient data records from at least one of the one or more second communication devices, the request including the reference of the one or more patient data records;
• and
• an invoke module for invoking co-browsing of the one or more patient data records, the co-browsing being provided during the communication session.

A computer program product comprising a computer usable medium having control logic stored therein for causing a computer to co-browse patient records during a communication session on a plurality of communication devices, the control logic comprising:

• computer readable program code means for initiating, at the first communication device, the communication session between a first communication device and one or more second communication devices;
• computer readable program code means for accessing, at the first communication device, one or more patient data records via a server;
• computer readable program code means for sending, by the first communication device, a reference of the one or more patient data records to the one or more second communication devices;
• computer readable program code means for requesting access to the one or more patient data records from at least one of the one or more second communication devices, the request including the reference of the one or more patient data records;
• and
• computer readable program code means for invoking co-browsing of the one or more patient data records, the co-browsing being provided during the communication session.
