Method of filtering applications

A computer implemented method of filtering executable applications in a computing device, the device comprising a memory and a collection of executable applications stored in the memory,

• wherein the computing-device is connected to a network,
• the method comprising:
• determining for each application of the collection of applications a list of services required by the respective application to be executed by the user,
• retrieving a collection of available physical resources of the network as the physical resources able to he accessed by the computing device through the network, a physical resource comprising a communication interface adapted to receive instructions from the computing device and being able to provide a service in response to said instructions,
• comparing the list of services required by each application with the services provided by the collection of available physical resources so as to find a match for each required service of the list of the said application within the services provided by the collection of available physical resources, and
• generating a list of operational applications, wherein an operational application is an application for which each required service has a match in the services provided by the collection of available physical resources.
