Abstract
A system manages human machine interface (HMI) applications for industrial control and automation. Software instructions stored on a tangible, non-transitory media and executable by a processor receive data indicative of a manufacturing/process control system being monitored and display a user interface indicative of a status of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored wherein the status is based on the received data.
Claims21
A system for managing human machine interface (HMI) applications for industrial control and automation, said system comprising:
- a processor;
- software instructions stored on a tangible, non-transitory media and executable by the processor, said instructions comprising:
- instructions for receiving data indicative of a manufacturing/process control system being monitored;
- instructions for displaying a user interface indicative of a status of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored, said status is based on the received data;
- instructions for displaying graphic elements as part of the user interface wherein each element is associated with and indicative of an alarm status of one or more aspects of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored;
- and
- instructions responsive to user input for configuring a selected graphic element with a border which is selectively animated in response to the alarm status associated with the selected graphic element being in an alert condition indicating that the one or more aspects of the manufacturing/process control system associated with the selected graphic element is not at an acceptable value.
Software instructions stored on a tangible, non-transitory media and executable by a processor, said instructions comprising:
- instructions for receiving data indicative of a manufacturing/process control system being monitored;
- instructions for displaying a user interface indicative of a status of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored, said status is based on the received data;
- instructions for displaying graphic elements as part of the user interface wherein each element is associated with and indicative of an alarm status of one or more aspects of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored;
- and
- instructions responsive to user input for configuring a selected graphic element with a border which is selectively animated in response to the alarm status associated with the selected graphic element being in an alert condition indicating that the one or more aspects of the manufacturing/process control system associated with the selected graphic element is not at an acceptable value.
A processor executable method for managing human machine interface (HMI) applications for industrial control and automation, said method comprising:
- receiving data indicative of a manufacturing/process control system being monitored;
- displaying a user interface indicative of a status of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored, said status is based on the received data;
- displaying graphic elements as part of the user interface wherein each element is associated with and indicative of an alarm status of one or more aspects of the manufacturing/process control system being monitored;
- and
- responsive to user input, configuring a selected graphic element with a border which is selectively animated in response to the alarm status associated with the selected graphic element being in an alert condition indicating that the one or more aspects of the manufacturing/process control system associated with the selected graphic element is not at an acceptable value.
