Abstract
A polymeric radiation-source with customized geometries to maximize receipt of radiation into treatment areas that is formed from either radioisotopes molecularly bonded to a polymer or radioisotopes encased within a polymer.
Claims20
A method of producing a radioactive polymer comprising:
- providing a complex of a radioisotope and a bi-functional ligand, the ligand including an amine;
- and
- mixing the complex with a polymer.
A radioactive polymer comprising:
- a complex of a radioisotope and a bi-functional ligand bonded with a polymer.
A method of manufacturing a polymeric radiation-source comprising:
- obtaining image data of a treatment area, the image data including shape surface and geometry data;
- and
- shaping radioactive polymer into a polymeric radiation-source in accordance with the image data.
