Abstract
The invention provides specific peptides derived from the cytotoxicity receptor NKp44 useful for preventing and treating serious diseases including in particular cancer. The invention further relates to compositions comprising a fragment of the extracellular region of NKp44 for preventing or treating cancer.
Claims20
An isolated peptide of 10 to 30 amino acid residues in length which corresponds to a fragment of the ectodomain of the natural cytotoxicity receptor protein NKp44, the peptide comprising the amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of:
- SEQ ID NOS:
- 25-44, or a fragment thereof comprising at least 10 contiguous amino acids.
A method for preventing or treating cancer, the method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of an isolated peptide of 10 to 30 amino acid residues in length which corresponds to a fragment of the ectodomain of the natural killer cell receptor protein NKp44;
- thereby preventing or treating cancer in the subject.
