A method for detecting whether a subject has a pancreatic carcinoma comprising:
- (a) providing a specimen from a subject being diagnosed for a pancreatic carcinoma,
- (b) contacting said specimen with a monoclonal antibody 31.1, and
- (c) detecting the presence of an antigen-antibody complex,
- wherein the presence of an antigen-antibody complex indicates the presence of pancreatic cancer.
An imaging method for detecting a pancreatic carcinoma antigen in a subject comprising
- (a) contacting pancreatic cells with a labeled monoclonal antibody 31.1 or a fragment thereof;
- and
- (b) detecting pancreatic cells that specifically binds to said labeled antibody or fragment, wherein said specific binding indicates the presence of pancreatic carcinoma cells that express said antigen.
A method of killing cells carrying a pancreatic carcinoma associated antigen, comprising delivering to said cells an effective amount of 31.1 monoclonal antibody.
