Input device with membrane to impede entrance of foreign contaminates into an electric gaming machine

A machine comprising:

• a panel having a first surface and an opposing second surface;
• and
• an input device mounted to the panel, the input device including:
• (a) a housing;
• (b) a bezel connected to and extending outward from the housing, the bezel including a membrane contact surface;
• (c) a member supported by the housing, the member defining an opening therein extending around a perimeter of the member, the member being at least partially disposed within the housing and being movable relative to the housing from a first position to a second position and from the second position to the first position;
• and
• (d) a flexible membrane having a first portion disposed within the opening of the member and a second portion disposed between the membrane contact surface of the bezel and the first surface of the panel such that the flexible membrane substantially covers the bezel.
