Abstract
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus configures at least a non-access stratum (NAS) protocol layer or a radio resource control (RRC) protocol layer to enable device-to-device (D2D) communication with at least a second apparatus when the apparatus is out of network coverage, and communicates with at least the second apparatus.
Claims30
A method of wireless communication for a first user equipment (UE), comprising:
- configuring, at the first UE, at least a non-access stratum (NAS) protocol layer or a radio resource control (RRC) protocol layer to enable device-to-device (D2D) communication with at least a second UE when the first UE is out of network coverage;
- and
- communicating with the at least a second UE.
A first user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:
- means for configuring, at the first UE, at least a non-access stratum (NAS) protocol layer or a radio resource control (RRC) protocol layer to enable device-to-device (D2D) communication with at least a second UE when the first UE is out of network coverage;
- and
- means for communicating with the at least a second UE.
A first user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
- configure, at the first UE, at least a non-access stratum (NAS) protocol layer or a radio resource control (RRC) protocol layer to enable device-to-device (D2D) communication with at least a second UE when the first UE is out of network coverage;
- and
- communicate with the at least a second UE.
A computer program product, comprising:
- a computer-readable medium comprising code for:
- configuring, at the first UE, at least a non-access stratum (NAS) protocol layer or a radio resource control (RRC) protocol layer to enable device-to-device (D2D) communication with at least a second UE when the first UE is out of network coverage;
- and
- communicating with the at least a second UE.
