System and method to manage switching between devices

A tangible machine-readable storage medium in communication with at least one processor, the tangible machine-readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

• maintaining a consolidated catalog of applications available on devices coupled to a master device;
• causing graphical presentation of the consolidated catalog of applications on a screen controlled by the master device;
• receiving a selection of an application from the consolidated catalog of applications via a control device;
• based on the selected application being located at a device coupled to the master device, automatically switching input from the master device to the device coupled to the master device having the selected application;
• and
• causing presentation of a display corresponding to the selected application on the screen.

A system comprising:

• a processor of a machine;
• a catalog database to maintain a consolidated catalog of applications available on devices coupled to a master device;
• a display module to cause graphical presentation of the consolidated catalog of applications on a screen controlled by the master device;
• a communication module to receive a selection of an application from the consolidated catalog of applications via a control device;
• and
• a switch module to automatically switch, using the processor of the machine, input from the master device to a device coupled to the master device that has the selected application, the display module to cause presentation of a display corresponding to the selected application on the screen.
