Screen sharing using scripting computer language code directly executable by web browser

A computer server comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory module coupled to the processor, the memory module storing a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
• load a presentation webpage in a first web browser, wherein the presentation webpage includes scripting language codes that are configured to cause the first web browser to capture a screen image without requiring the first web browser to load an applet;
• receive data indicative of the captured screen image from the first web browser, wherein the data is generated by the scripting language codes;
• process the received data to form a processed screen image that is in an image format natively displayable to a second web browser;
• and
• transmit the processed screen image to the second web browser.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a plurality of scripting language codes that, when executed by a web browser operating on a computing device, cause the web browser to:

• capture a screen image from a display of the computing device without requiring the web browser to load an applet,
• the applet requiring to be executed by a process separate from the web browser on the computing device;
• generate data indicative of the captured screen image;
• and
• transmit the data indicative of the captured screen image from the computing device to a server via a communication network.
