Gas turbine emissions control system and method

A method of operating a turbine system, comprising:

• operating a gas turbine engine of the turbine system at less than full load;
• operating a selective catalytic reduction system to reduce a level of a first emissions compound in an exhaust gas produced by the gas turbine engine to a desired level;
• determining an available, unused capacity of the selective catalytic reduction system to further reduce the level of the first emissions compound in the exhaust gas produced by the gas turbine engine;
• and
• increasing the level of the first emissions compound in the exhaust gas produced by the gas turbine engine by adjusting one or more operating parameters of the gas turbine engine based on the available, unused capacity.

A method of operating a turbine system, comprising:

• setting a first desired value of a first amount of an emissions compound in an exhaust gas exiting a gas turbine engine and entering a selective catalytic reduction system configured to process the exhaust gas into a processed exhaust gas;
• setting a second desired value for a second amount of reductant slip in the selective catalytic reduction system;
• setting a third desired value for the emissions compound in the processed exhaust gas exiting the selective reduction system;
• injecting a reductant into the selective catalytic reduction system to achieve the second desired value for the second amount of reductant slip;
• determining an adjustment for the first desired value of the first amount of the emissions compound in the exhaust gas exiting the gas turbine engine and entering the selective catalytic reduction system to set a new first desired value of the first amount of the emissions compound;
• and
• adjusting at least one operating parameter of the gas turbine engine to achieve the new first desired value of the first amount of the emissions compound.
