Abstract
A filamentous fungal cell having reduced UDP-galactofuranose is provided. The fungal cell may, in certain embodiments, contain a nuclear genome comprising an inactivated UDP-galactopyranose mutase (UDP-galp mutase) gene and a recombinant nucleic acid for expression of a protein. Also provided are methods of producing a protein using the subject fungal cell, as well as methods of producing the subject fungal cell.
Claims23
A recombinant filamentous fungal cell comprising a nuclear genome comprising an inactivated UDP-galactopyranose mutase (UDP-galp mutase) gene that results in decrease expression of a UDP-galp mutase protein having at least 90% sequence identity to the protein encoded by SEQ ID NO:2, wherein said fungal cell further comprises a recombinant nucleic acid for expression of a recombinant protein in said cell.
