Abstract
A vulcanizable elastomer composition having improved adhesion to other polymers and comprising at least one elastomer and an adhesion promoting curative and stabilizer system, wherein the adhesion promoting curative and stabilizer system comprises: a) an organic peroxide; b) a diazabicycloamine; c) an isocyanurate; d) a layered organically modified inorganic nanofiller; and e) optionally an antioxidant. The elastomer composition has good heat aging properties, even when antioxidants are not used, and exhibits strong adhesion to other polymers upon vulcanization.
Claims20
A vulcanizable elastomer composition having improved adhesion to other polymers and comprising at least one elastomer and an adhesion promoting curative and stabilizer system, wherein
- 1. the at least one elastomer is an epichlorohydrin copolymer,
- 2. the adhesion promoting curative and stabilizer system comprises
- a) an organic peroxide;
- b) a diazabicycloamine;
- c) an isocyanurate;
- d) a layered organically modified inorganic nanofiller;
- and
- e) optionally an antioxidant, and
- 3. the total antioxidant content in the elastomer composition is in the range from zero up to and including 5 weight parts, for 100 weight parts of elastomer.
