Using RNAi Imaging Data For Gene Interaction Network Construction

A method for construction of a gene interaction network comprising:

• receiving recorded images of groups of cells associated with a set of genes, each of the groups received by knocking down one or more genes from a second set of genes, a first set of genes and the second set of genes including common genes;
• for each pair of genes in the second set, computing a gene relationship measure that is based on cellular images, the computation using a morphological similarity measure between corresponding groups of cells;
• ranking images of similar morphology, including modeling a three dimensional shape of a cellular image stack produced by knocking down respective genes;
• and
• constructing a graph for related image stacks, each gene is a node in the graph, and drawing edges between all nodes in the graph based on image rankings being in a commonly ranked list.
