Processor control system

A method of controlling a processor, comprising:

• receiving, at a controller, prediction information for a predicted temperature associated with the processor;
• determining, via the controller, a speed of operation for the processor based at least on a thermal model of the processor and the predicted temperature, the speed supporting an operational objective of the processor;
• receiving, at an error estimator that is separate from the controller, temperature information obtained from the processor operating at the speed;
• determining, via the error estimator, updated prediction information based, at least in part, on the temperature information;
• and
• outputting, from the error estimator, the updated prediction information to the controller.

One or more non-transitory machine-readable storage media storing instructions that are executable on one or more processing devices to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, at a controller, prediction information for a predicted temperature associated with the processor;
• determining, via the controller, a speed of operation for the processor based at least on a thermal model of the processor and the predicted temperature, the speed supporting an operational objective of the processor;
• receiving, at an error estimator that is separate from the controller, temperature information obtained from the processor operating at the speed;
• determining, via the error estimator, updated prediction information based, at least in part, on the temperature information;
• and
• outputting, from the error estimator, the updated prediction information to the controller.
