Quadriceps tendon stripper/cutter

A method of stripping and cutting a tendon with a single instrument, the method comprising the steps of:

• exposing a tendon;
• aligning the exposed tendon with a combined tendon stripper/cutter instrument so that at least a portion of the tendon extends through a most distal opening of the combined tendon stripper/cutter instrument;
• and
• advancing the combined tendon stripper/cutter instrument down a length of the tendon, from a first location to a second location on the tendon.

A hybrid stripper/cutter instrument for graft striping and cutting, comprising:

• a handle;
• an outer tube attached to the handle, the outer tube having a proximal end and a distal end;
• a hybrid stripper/cutter provided at the distal end of the outer tube;
• an actuator mechanism for actuating a cutting blade of the hybrid stripper/cutter;
• and
• a locking mechanism for locking the hybrid stripper/cutter at one or more different locking positions.
